I think it is a natural reaction. The only thing that helped him heal was his "dream" meetings with his daughter. The last time she came to him in a dream she told him that he had to stop being angry. And he did. I think those meetings were a gift from God. God understands us and our pain and He wants to help.

I love this whole post. I love that you say your whole life is a mission trip. Really, I think all of our lives are. That is why we are here. We are here to help our souls grow by learning to love others and help others. Bad things happen on earth because this is not a perfect place and God knows that through those bad things there are such amazing opportunities for us to love each other and grow. Our time here is really so short. When we are suffering we must remember that it does serve a purpose and there will be a time when there will be no more suffering and we will be joined again with all those we love. How blessed are we that know that. I can't imagine how hard life is for those that don't know about God's love for us. HOW do they get through the hard times?

ANYWAY... I really love this post. And I love you. :)Kathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14339665205284492242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6559227461484344655.post-14185800230873983022013-01-09T03:19:06.491-08:002013-01-09T03:19:06.491-08:00Karen Deborah, I have never lost a child to death,...Karen Deborah, I have never lost a child to death, and cannot pretend to know what it's like. But, I can imagine when I think of my own children who are still here on earth and understand how deeply the hurt must be. In all of our sufferings, the Lord does not abandon and I am glad for you that He shows you so. I grew up in Colombia as a missionary kid and I do know what you speak of concerning the richness America has. And yet, I have met so many unhappy Americans, because they do not know the Lord. Material things just don't matter. Being known of God as His child is. May the Lord continue to give of His grace to you.jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05732358856419035775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6559227461484344655.post-23063835498915127622013-01-09T01:25:27.261-08:002013-01-09T01:25:27.261-08:00oh how the tears flow as I read the words coming f...oh how the tears flow as I read the words coming from your heart. Losing a child, a baby is the worst pain and even all these years later it makes my soul bleed. I need answers but have never found them. I search but I don't see. How blessed you are to have his comfort. take care sweet KD.joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12112607125596693550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6559227461484344655.post-54483081590018934012013-01-08T22:14:37.939-08:002013-01-08T22:14:37.939-08:00I hear your sweet words and silently mouth "A...I hear your sweet words and silently mouth "Amen."

Today I spent a goodly portion of the day sitting in the local surgery ward with a dear neighbor as her husband underwent surgery. I hadn't sat in that room for . . . years . . . but it felt like seconds ago. It tore my heart to remember my own pain-loss-grief . . . but it filled my heart with joy to hold my dear, sweet neighbor's hand and smile as we heard the doctor tell us "all is well."

Yes! Yes, we are on a mission. And YES! We should live like it, though we seldom do. Praise the Lord, He knows who and what and how we are. Our tears are His tears. Our losses, His losses. All of our gifts come from Him and are to be shared freely.

Sweet sister, thank you for reaching out on a cold day. Thank you for giving a warm gift. Love thy neighbor . . . and everyone we meet is our neighbor.

Nicely said. Duly registered. Onward . . . with a smile of joy that cradles tears of hurt.

But God . . .
