Those roses are gorgeous! I was fortunate to recieve some of my late grandma's Iris's today, and got them planted, as well as a rose bush that ended up being over 10 ft. tall. I had bought it for her years ago and it was supposed to be a normal size, non climbing lavender colored rose bush. Every year it blooms a different color, only lavender once, lol and it has climbed all over everything. Grandma's been gone almost 2 years, and grandpa didn't want to have to deal with this thing growing all over the other bushes, and getting in the way, so it came to my house today :) It's beside a storage shed we have, and it looks like it has been growing there climbing all over the shed and roof for years. Would you like to see some pictures? I'd post them, but dont know if anyone would want to see. I just LOVE this time of year! I look forward to more of your garden pics too! :)
OH what fun! Isnt it hard to believe that the girls are 'all growed up' in a sense? and those roses - send them north baby! The sprouts, lucky duck - I am going to be toiling over the herb garden today... he needs cleaning - dirty Herb. *snicker*
Lovely roses! My Dad planted a rose arbor back of the farm house where I grew up ... I can still remember the heavenly smell. We don't even have spring bulbs up and blooming here yet. But I did see my first dandelion of the season this past week!
