I'm usually the last to know, but does the government really need to stick it's ugly hands into our back yards? Organic gardening is beginning to put a dent in the commercial growers wallets.
I love farmers markets, fruit and vegetable stands, and the FREEDOM to chose what kind of food I want to buy or grow.
There are 2 pieces of legislation to stop all of this in the name of safety. Give me a break. Safe food does not have tons of chemicals sprayed on it. The government has almost destroyed the small farmer in terms of cattle raising and dairy production. Now they turn their ugly eyes onto vegetables. STOP this MADDNESS and call your representatives today, do it NOW!
HR 875 and S 425. check it out this is for real.

Most poloticians have stock in corperate farms.... :)
It's pathetic....it's the same here in Canada what their trying to do.
I am a 'crack up'......but where is me ACCOLADE? LOL
*smiles*.... that made my morning! You are gorgeous!
Oh no!! I can't imagine not having the freedom to grow our own food?? Aren't the Obamas having their own vegetable garden at the White House?
There have been so many "fresh vegetables and fruits" from other countries that have been taken off the produce stands in supermarkets because they were found to have harmful chemicals.
Why can't the government THINK WITH REASON anymore??
What?! I missed this, too. Can they, really?
The madness of politicians drunk on power and the voters drunk on apathy or worse. If we do not awake from our materialistic stupor, shut off the tv, and reclaim LIFE then we are doomed to repeat what history has shown in every power-drunk/leisure-filled society thoughtout history: dissolution or captivity or worse.
I'm off to the garden for a cup of tea, a quiet time with my Lord, and a few games with my kids. Life is good . . . and I intend to fully thank the Lord for it.
: D
Don't head over here-- you'd be appalled at what the British people put up with (in the name of the EU).
I'm so tired of the government deciding what is best for me and my family. Debbie's description (above) of power drunk politicians and apathetic voters really says it all. I live in a tiny city in CA...known for being "country" and yet the city tells me I can't have two or three hens in my backyard. I'm getting those chickens anyway. I want fresh eggs! Meanwhile, I have to go through all of the fuss and drama of trying to get the city to change that ordinance. Honestly, I'm surprised that we're allowed to have vegetable gardens!
