LOOK!

It's done. He should get a gold medal. There should be an Olympic medal or a medal of honor or some kind of huge award for being my husband. There should be a reward for making someone else dreams a reality. He's magical. Not really, he worked HARD! There is no price tag on this. I couldn't afford to pay.

Amazing. It all fit! Look at all those buckets of grain, beans, rice and yes the old evil white sugar. I have 45 pounds of sugar. I need to bake some pies for this man! He loves dessert. Tomorrow the cook is getting cooking.

You'd never know all the effort that just went into this. Scroll down for the before photos when this was a laundry closet and had dirty carpet in the hallway.

Kayla and I worked hard today. We cleaned up in here.

Way better. Way way way better. There is still a little bit left to do, but not much.

Next thing to do is move Kayla upstairs and me down stairs before my surgery and maybe go to Georgia. I'm looking into that doggie in the rescue. OK bear with me here but in a divorce you have 2 people, neither of which wanted to keep their dog? I got divorced once and replaced that bum with a dog and was way better off. Well, then the hunny came along. I loved Rasmus so much, the worst thing that ever happened was for him to get cancer. He was so beautiful and so graceful, he even showed his grace with that terrible disease. We can learn a lot from dogs. We can learn a lot about doing the right thing, about not being selfish and self serving, about loyalty and kindness and play. Dogs make life so good. Now cats? I'm teasin....you know we have two cats and I just wanted to get you riled up. Riley. Perfect name don't you think?

Fantastic!!! I see a pie or two in his future!

Riley, I love the name, and I agree with you about dogs. They could teach us much if we would just pay attention. I've always thought the answer to everything is tied up with this dog..she is lovely and kind, and a joy in our lives, just like all of our other dogs. Go get him..he is calling you..;p

Wow your pantry is amazing!! I love how organized you are--organization is one of my big downfalls unfortunately. Your color choices are wonderful and warm, probably just like you in real life :-)

Oh and the dog? Don't do it. Just my opinion, but I did that once on a whim and realized later I was making it a hardship on everyone else in the family to care for the dog when I had bigger stuff looming ahead (like surgery) Simplify, simplify, simplify! Just my opinion and you know what they say about those and rear ends...everybody's got one...LOL

While I won't deny that the pantry looks great and Husband should get rewarded, I can't help but think that you do as well for all that canning. Yum.

Great job on that pantry! Now I know where to get some sugar when I run low.

Aren't big ol' 'farm pantries' the best! I love yours. The 5 gallon bucket idea is great, I have rice and beans and pasta in big tupperware type tubs, tough to get to, and always worry about spilling the entire contents. I will start searching for buckets now.

Hope you are feeling well.

Beautiful pantry!!! (Get rid of those Rits crackers, canned soups, and a few other icky processed foods and I'd smile an even bigger smile.)

Count my vote in with Grandma Tillie in the Bakery regarding the dog. Think loooong and hard about this one. If you weren't planning to return to work I could maybe, just maybe, see a bit more from your view. (Remember I KNOW you personally, sister . . . ), but with returning to work and surgery and all I think Mr. Pup may not be the best choice.

I know I'm in the minority around here, but I love you and just thought I should speak up.

p.s.
Those pickles and salsa looks FABULOUS!

Hmmmmm... maybe your hunny could breathe on my hunny and maybe he'd catch whatever it is that makes your man do all that stuff for you! AWESOME!!! Could I rent him?
