Just Cute.

What's different in this picture?

Do you see the real "toy"?
Maybe he was feeling lonely and decided to snuggle with some buddies.
I thought it was too cute not to share.

I'm still cleaning and going to the Goodwill. Just about done. The house is looking GREAT. Drawers are getting emptied out, closets debulked, it's liberating! It's so easy to get dressed when the only things in my closet are items that I can actually wear. No more shopping for the current size either. We (Kayla and I) are trying to lose weight so we aren't cooking. No pies. No cookies no nada. Not eating much. Meat and vegetables how interesting is that? No photo ops.
But you know what? It's time for all that celebratory food and I never lost what I gained last year! I refuse to get bigger, no no NO! I mean for Pete's sake; my feet are breaking under the load now. To me that is a big hint, the body would prefer to lighten the load. DUH...

Books? Well, yes I am reading but if I keep talking about it, I might get labeled and that will never do. Just a nice heart warming story you say?

"Heart In the Right Place," by Carolyn Jourdan. This is a true story about a woman who has it all, money, high powered job, a Mercedes...and her mother has a heart attack. Her father is a country doctor in a rural area of Tennessee and her mother helps run his very old fashioned practice. She goes home to help out and from there her whole life gets turned upside down. Its sweet, hilarious, and well...it's true. What can be better than that?

Currently I am tessering through "A Wrinkle In Time," series and am reading the last book. I have a different perspective after reading the Crosswick Journals and can see that some of the settings are from her farm. It's been a very enjoyable rerun. Children's books can be for everyone, especially these. These would be good read aloud books for family time.

How are you? Do you have big plans for Thanksgiving?

Wow, you and I really are so alike. I just reread A Wrinkle In Time last month. I loved it.

Next on my reading list is, preventing and reversing heart disease naturally.

This weekend our church(of about 50 people) is feeding the community hot dogs and chili during the candlelight walk, then Sunday we are celebrating Thanksgiving as a church family, then Thursday we fly home to Texas for 10 days! I hope to get a tan and be warm for 10 glorious days!

Awe, your kitty looks so snuggley and content!

I am cooking for my daughter and her kiddos this year...just the four of us while my SIL is in Iraq.
We have so much to be thankful for.

Wow--no cooking --YOU?! I'll miss that. My son and his family are coming and I've ordered a deep fried turkey to be cooked and delivered on Thanksgiving Day. Last year, I spent the whole day trying to get that turkey done and didn't enjoy being with my family at all. This year, I'm going to have the sides and desserts done ahead and I'm going to enjoy my grandkids --and hopefully my 95 year-old mom will not have pneumonia still so she can be here too. So please say a prayer for " Margaret", so she will get well--this pneumonia has hung on for over a month, although she got better, it's either back or never entirely went away.

Too cute! I love when they find a place to curl up and you don't realize they're there until you see them move.
My MIL is doing Thanksgiving this year. I'm happy for the break. But I will be taking a dessert of some sort.

Awwww...

I'm cleaning... and not eating yummy stuff... and we are having people over for Thanksgiving.

I love to do Thanksgiving! Funny thing though, I wasn't planning on making sweet potato casserole because I LOVE IT! One of my friend's kids got all excited when they said they were coming here and mentioned the sweet potatoes... so, I will make them. And send the left overs home with them. Oy.

Gosh Karen... I wish I spent time with you when we lived there. I wish I could come over now and just hang out. Wah.

Just cute is right!
I bought a bunch of books this summer while we had a herd of visiting grandkids. I bought many of my childhood favorites. I re read them all. the kids read few! A Wrinkle in Time is one, I did not know it was a series, will have to find others. My little granddau loves the Bobbsey Twins and wants more. Tristan has now finished Old Yeller, Where the Red Fern Grows and I think has started Black Beauty. Nothing like the old clasics.

My MIL is cooking this year, so I am not. And, quite frankly it feels weird! Love the picture of the cat. It has been a long time since I read, "A Wrinkle in Time". I am currently reading, "Her Fearful Symmetry".

Cute photo of the cat.
About Thanksgiving, I am doing what I love: staying home with my kids! No rushing around to go places or see people. Just relaxing and cooking and hanging out.
Oh, and I am trying to lose a bit of weight, too. Shouldn't be too hard to do. :)
God bless you and yours.

Makes me want a kitty. They make a house so homey:) We are staying home this year alone...kind of bummed. I love Thanksgiving, it's my favorite. But we will make it for Christmas in Illinois...so that will be fun. Have a wonderful week.
