At the end of a good weekend.

This is not a pond, it's a small puddle after all the rain. How good to have God water after all our work.

My dear dogs grave, getting prettier with time.

The lillies are settling in.

It's been raining, settling the plants into the earth again and turning everything a dazzling shade of green. After eight years here I am still impressed each spring by the beauty of color in the south.

We rested today, the earth, the gardeners, and we just looked at the work that many hands have accomplished, and it was satisfying.

We have been having some great conversations lately about life. We are talking to each other more without a TV. Personally I am more content and less anxious. One of the key differences in our lives of late is that we have switched from being consumers to being producers; an interesting concept. Mull that over for awhile.

It's time to go back to work so see you at the end of the week, be blessed.

What a lot of work that has been and, yikes, it looks like you have more work ahead. Are you going to fill up that big swatch of dirt? I'm tired just looking at it.

Oh you guys have been so busy - It looks BEAUTIFUL!! what a hard working man you have... I love to be a producer and less of a consumer. Good luck at work this week!! *hugs*

thats wonderful you have all accomplished so much preparing for the garden...
You are so right (your comment on my blog) I could not deal with mother but God allows me to take care of her and even though she tries hard to push my buttons by "not preaching to me" with her twisted beliefs and lack of understanding of the bible... I say a prayer and do my best ... sometimes I have to just get up and leave the room... this trip her "preaching" was on Bradley being born dead if we dont make them take him to church and how I am the bad seed tossed on fallow ground...I thought I was going to have to duct tape Marthas mouth cause she was about to lose it... instead I sent martha out to the van and I had a short discussion with mother then left as well.
It is always a challenge but God gets us through it and safely there and back... I tell my aunt people dont understand I dont do what I do for mom I do it for me because I believe that is what God wants me to do....
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Love n hugs Laura

I'll miss you while you are away at work. Your posts are like letters.

You guys worked HARD! Can't wait to see the bumper crop roll on in. We put in veggies, but on a smaller scale . . . for now. Rachel wants to try potatoes in a bucket (she read about it and has to try it for herself). I'm game. You can never have too many 'taters! : )

GREEN is right! I'm still looking at white snow, tho it's melting fast. I've got bare-root things in the garage. Seeds are started in the house. I've got SO much work ahead!

Did you see in one of my posts a quote about cast iron backs? I think at the end of my long garden post a bit back. In this older body that cast-iron back's hinge is rusty! I like the feel of bending way over, but the straightening back up isn't working as well these days!
